Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, known for his consistent engagement with defence personnel and institutions, met with key representatives from the armed forces at his official residence in Lucknow. Two significant courtesy calls took place, reflecting the state’s growing collaboration with defence establishments.
In the first meeting, Commander Prakadishwaran K.M., Principal of Sainik School Mainpuri, paid a courtesy call on the Chief Minister. The two held discussions on matters pertaining to the school’s development, its contribution to nation-building through military-oriented education, and ways in which the Uttar Pradesh Government can support and strengthen such institutions. Commander Prakadishwaran apprised the Chief Minister of the school’s ongoing academic and extracurricular progress and sought state support in enhancing infrastructure and facilities for cadets. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath acknowledged the vital role of Sainik Schools in shaping the future of the Indian Armed Forces and assured all necessary support from the state administration.
In a separate meeting, a delegation from the Gorkha Brigade, led by Lieutenant General Sanjeev Chauhan, President of the Gorkha Brigade, also met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Lucknow. The delegation comprised Brigadier V. Santosh, Colonel Harihar, and Colonel Rajat Sondhi. The courtesy meeting focused on the illustrious history of the Gorkha Brigade, its contributions to national security, and future opportunities for deeper cooperation between the brigade and the state of Uttar Pradesh.

The Gorkha Brigade, renowned for its valour and distinguished service to the nation, has a rich legacy that the Chief Minister acknowledged with admiration. Discussions also touched upon potential avenues for welfare initiatives aimed at serving and retired personnel from the brigade, especially those settled in Uttar Pradesh.
Both meetings underline the Chief Minister’s commitment to fostering strong ties with the armed forces and ensuring that institutions dedicated to military education and defence personnel receive due recognition and support.
Senior officials from the Uttar Pradesh Government were also present during the meetings, and the interactions concluded on a note of mutual respect and assurance for continued collaboration.
